Multiple modes of interaction, including Bluetooth LE, NFC, WiFi Aware, QR code, and online Internet requests for ID, mean flexible options for how mDL can be used everywhere around the globe. The standard supports user controlled direct device-to-device communication (offline mode) and user approval of a connection to the DL Issuing Authority to retrieve information (online mode).
